Tombstone Territorial Park is often referred to the Patagonia of the North.

This Tombstone Hiking adventure will take you way north of Whitehorse. With its rugged mountains and abundant wildlife it is an amazing place to visit. This hiking adventure will not go into the back country and is suited for the novice explorer.

Tombstone Territorial Park is located along the Dempster Highway. The park protects more than 2100 square kilometers of  diverse flora and fauna and wildlife. It is home to two species of caribou, moose, black bears, grizzly bears and numerous smaller mammals. If you enjoy birding the Tombstone Territorial Park is the place to be.

Join us on this once in a lifetime adventure and let our experienced guide take you on a fun and scenic road trip. You will become part of our family the moment we meet you at the airport. Our rustic and cozy wilderness lodge will be your home for the first night before you embark on an epic road trip north. Our journey will take us on the Klondikek Highway as well as the Dempster Highway.

The Tombstone Territorial campground will be hour base camp for the follwoing 3 nights. Your guide will spoil you with amazing home cooked meals prepared at camp. During the day we will  escape into the mountains on stunning hikes and excursions.

The Gold Rush Town – Dawson City

Dawson City, a famous gold rush town will also be part of our Tombstone Hiking Adventure. We will spend one night in Dawson City. This will give us plenty of time to walk the historic board walks and indulge in some history.

The roadtrip back will give us time to reflect on the mesmerizing time spent in the north.

 

Detailed Itinerary for the Tombtone Hiking Adventure

Day 1: Arrival at Muktuk. We will pick up at the airport or at a hotel in downtown Whitehorse, depending on your travel arrangements. After approximately 25min we will arrive in our little paradise located along the shore of the Takhini River. During a delicious home cooked meal we will discuss our week ahead

Let the adventure begin

Day 2: Road trip along the Klondike Highway and Dempster Highway to Tombstone Territorial Park Campground. Approx 510km or 8 hours driving time. Set up tents  and enjoy a hearty home cooked meal

Day 3: Take a big breath of clean and cool mountain air before having your first sip of freshly brewed coffee. Today it is time to explore. We will choose trail depending on participants physical abilities. Dinner will be back at the campsite.

Day 4: Another day to take in the beauty of the North. We will go for another hike or a drive, depending on what the group decides to do.

Dawson City

Day 5: Time to pack up and enjoy a 2 hour drive to Dawson City. We will have the rest of the day to explore and immerse into the sight of this historic town along the Yukon River

Day 6: Time to hit the road to head back to Muktuk Adventures.  (about 530km/7 hours driving time) You will have another night at Muktuk Adventures

Day 7:  Departure day. We will drop you off at the airport or a hotel in downtown Whitehorse, depending on  your travel arrangements.
