History

Muktuk Adventures has a rich history deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of the Yukon. The story begins with our founder, Frank Turner, who first arrived in the Yukon in the early 1970s. Drawn by the allure of the pristine wilderness and the remarkable bond between humans and dogs, he fell in love with the region and its unique way of life.

The name “Muktuk” refers to the traditional Inuit food consisting of whale blubber and skin, symbolizing the connection between humans and animals in the Arctic. Over the years, Muktuk Adventures has evolved into a leading eco-tourism destination, drawing visitors from across the globe who seek authentic experiences and a deeper understanding of the Yukon’s natural wonders.

Today, Muktuk Adventures stands as a testament to the spirit of adventure, the power of nature, and the extraordinary bond between humans and dogs. We invite you to join us on this incredible journey, where you can experience the magic of the Yukon and create memories that will leave an indelible mark on your soul.
