Muktuk Adventures has raised, trained, and cared for dogs for more than 30 years.

We are highly respected and compassionate dog lovers who genuinely care about our dogs, as well as the sport and reputation of dog sledding. Within the following pages, you will meet our amazing athletes and non athletes. We have the most amazing dogs ever no matter their purpose.

Working Dogs

Each of our dogs has their own personality, physcial capability and mental strenght. It is our job to make sure that each dog is working in a team where he or she can thrive at their best while being happy and healthy.

Piper

Piper is the sweetest little girl. She is full of energy and always ready for an adventure. She also loves to spend her nights in a cabin and snuggle up. Piper is not a fan of other females.

Alki

Alki joined our family in 2020. She was given to us from a racing kennel that was looking to re-home some of their dogs that did not fit in their team. Alki is a super outgoing dog and a huge fan of hugs and kisses

Hardrock

Hardrock joined our family in 2020. She was given to us from a racing kennel that was looking to re-home some of their dos that do not run in their team. Hardrock is a super sweet and energetic girl with a little attitude.

Barkley

Barkley joined our family in 2020. He was given to us from a racing kennel that was looking to re-home some of their dogs that do not fit in their team. Barkley is a super fun and goofy boy as well as incredibly handsome

Pelly

Pelly joined our family in 2020. He was given to us from a racing kennel that was looking to re-home some of their dogs that no longer fit in their team. Pelly is a sweet dog with an old dog personality.

Timbi

Timbi joined our family in 2015 as a boarding dog and ended up staying with us. He like the movie star under the dogs and he behaves that way as well. He loves attention and showing off his beauty in pictures

Stubby

Stubby joined our family in 2016. He came all the way from Alaska where his previous owner had to make lifestyle changes due to health. Stubby is a super sweet and crazy strong dog for its size.

Alpine

Alpine joined our family in 2016. He came together with his brother Stubby. Alpine is a beautiful dog, that loves to pull. He is very independent and likes to go off to explore on his own. Just like his brother he is super strong.

Dasher

Dasher is out of our Reindeer litter which was not a planned breeding but we are so happy to have them around. Dasher is a little whirlwind that is super fun to be around. She is easygoing and loves to work

Bog

Bog is one of the Dawson gang and joined our family in 2016. He is a big dog that is super playful. He is a total clown and loves to hang out in the Cabin with us. He is also super strong and loves to work next to his brohter

Comet

Comet was born in December to a litter of 9 puppies so it was a easy decision to name them after Santa’s reindeer. Comet is a quirky little girl that loves her food and a good run around with her sisters

Legion

Legion is one of the Dawson gang. Back in 2016 we took in 12 dogs from a musher in Dawson City due to life style changes. Legion is a black beauty and looks a lot like a wolf. He has a super sweet personality.

Luna

Luna joined our family in 2017. She came from a private home where she caused too much trouble. Luna is very dominant and likes to have all the attention. She is a playful girl and high energetic girl

Cirrus

Cirrus is out of our cloud litter. He is a beautiful dog that has a lot of energy and never seems to get tired. He is a little too crazy and other dogs faces so most male dogs are not a fan of him. Ritter however is his best buddy.

Buster

Buster is one of the Dawson gang and the brother of Bog. The two of them make a great team, though they tend to get a little to excited a hook up. Buster is just as playful as his brother just in a more serious way

Zevon

Zevon is one of our young and upcoming stars. He likes to act tough but he is super sweet and very beautiful. Bog and Buster are his best buddies. Zevon is named after the musician Warren Zevon.

Nahanni

Nahanni joined our family in 2015, she was given to us from a racing kennel. Nahanni had two litters of puppies since she is with us. Both of them where her choice. She is a lovely independent and dominant female

Vixen

Vixen is another girl out of our reindeer litter. She is the smallest in size but makes up for that with her quirky and silly personality. An absolute sweetheart with just the right mix of a little crazy and sweet makes her perfect

Ritter

Ritter is another one of our energy bunnies. He is always happy, though he is not much of a morning dog, he likes to sleep in. Ritter is named after a chocolate bar maybe that is the reason why everybody loves him

Lure

Lure is one of the Dawson Gang that joined our Family back in 2016. Lure. She is a master in tying knots into the gangline, tugline, neckline, just any line. Lure always has a smile on her face and is the biggest clown ever.

Dobby

Dobby is out of the Harry Potter Litter. At 9 years old he does not show any sign of slowing down anytime soon. He is one of those great ones yet never really stands out, he knows his stuff but never brags about it.

Hawk

Hawk is a little superstar. He is a son of our late boy Khumbu, he is a great worker, always happy, always ready to go, always hungry and super sweet. Hard to believe that he is already 8 years old this summer.

Retired Dogs

As much as they love to work for each and every one of them there will come the day when they are ready to retire. Some retire as young as 6 and others are 12 years old by the time they decide they ar ready to take is easy. As with all our dogs their wellbeing and happiness is our first priority.

Tink

Tink was a rescue and joined us in January of 2015. She was a feisty girl and during her working years she would be the only girl in an all boy team.
She is the sweetest old lady.

Kluane

Kluane it the most gently and laid back girl. She had a very competive spirit in her younger years, and even at the age of 15 she will show that at time.

Spaz

Spaz is living up to his name 100% of the time. He joined us back in 2013 from the Humane Society. He was a hard hard working dog, that never missed a meal in his life.
He still eats like a champ at 16, and loves exploring together with his buddy Malik

Malik

Malik came all the way from Switzerland. After his owners dreams of living in the Yukon shattered he joined us in 2017. He worked for a little bit, but was never too much into it. He loves people unless they wear heavy make up or strong perfume.

Ty

Ty came to us at 2 years old, she did not fit in the team of her previous owner. She is a very sensitive girl that does not do well with change. She settle in well and after working full time for 2 year and part time for another 2 year she retired at the ripe age of 6. 🙂
She is very special in her own way.

Traylock

Traylock is the sweetest olf man there is. He is going deaf and blind but it does not stop his adventourus spirits. He also loves squeeky toys!.

Tuff

Tuff is a sister to Ty. She is and early retiry as well. She is a little weirdo, in the best, and most loving way possible. She truly enjoys her retirment that is filled with long naps and chasing squirrels. While those two sister do not look alike they sure do have the same personality.

Buster

Buster came to us back in 2016. He is a big and strong dog and loved to pull a sled.
Him and his brother retired at 9 years old. Buster has his moments when he wants to hang out with people, but he prefers to be outdoors and looks a bit lost when his brother decides to visit the indoors.

Bog

Compared to his brother Buster, Bog is a total clown and absolutely loves to hang out in the house. He is a big boy and he loves to follow everyone for a walk.

Piper

Piper is full of spunk and excitment, yet loves a good snuggle and knows how to relax.
She thrives being around people.

Kermode

Kermode came to us as an older girl. She was 8 years old when we took her in. She worked for a few year before she retired. In the summer she loves to hang out outdoors, in the winter she will sleep on the couch. You know when it is cold outside, as Kermode will be standing at the door.

Hawk

at 13 years old Hawk still has a lot of energy. He loves his river walks and to chew on as many sticks as he can. He also never misses a treat.

Non Working Dogs Dogs

Or freeloaders as we like to lovingly call them. Some of them where ment to be sleddogs but decided differently, others came to us from the shelter or private home to stay with us.
Most of them stay with us, every now and then we adopt them out if we find the right home and fit for them..

Little One

We got Little One from the shelter in Whitehorse. She was only 16 weeks old when we adopted her. She took over the reins in the first day she arrived and is the boss ever since. Full of character she is in control of all the dogs and humans.

Skipper

Skipper is probably the biggest clown of a dog we ever met. He has the funniest gate when he runs, he gives you the craziest looks and the always has something to say. Skipper is only 3 years now but due to poor health as a puppy he will be a pet dog for live.

Sarabi

Sarabi was born at Muktuk to one of our rescue dogs that was left behind while pregnant. She is a super fun girl with lots of energy and alwasy ready for and adventures. Skipper and Zazu are her best friends.

Zazu

Zazu is Sarabi’s brother. He is an adorable dog that loves to cuddle. Sleep ins are his favourite, though he does not share the bed very well.

River

River joined our family in 2016 when we took in some dogs from Alaska. River hates the cold and does not enjoy running in the team. She is a sweet shy little girl that loves to lean on you. She also loves to follow the team running behind them.

Edward

After unsucessly finding the right home for 5times in his 11 month, this black goofball found its way to us in the Summer of 23. Even if he does not look like it at first sight, he is a big softy and drama queen. Favourite thing is going exploring with Zazu and Katie Kate.

Katie

Katie Kate was born in December 2022, and while her sisters are absolute rockstars on the sled, she is not into it at all. She made the lodge and our bed her home and loves to take Edward on adventures. She also loves to join guest on their strolls along our river trail.
